Cynthia's Favorite Vegan Things: April

When I tell you that I have looked for years and years for a perfume that 1. didn't give me a headache 2. was 100% vegan 3. was cruelty-free (many perfumes use mink oil) and 4. smelled delicious, I would not be exaggerating. (And Libras are prone to exaggeration.) But alas, I finally found the perfect perfume!

This perfume comes in a spray as well, and there are a bunch of reviews on the site for the spray, but I prefer the solid--easier to throw in an overnight bag or purse; however, there are no reviews for the solid. But everyone is writing about the heavenly smell, which is the same in both the spray and solid. It was really tough picking just one fragrance. Pacifica has a bunch of yummy scents. I'm looking forward to trying another when this one runs out. Oh, and check out all their other beauty products, not just perfume. I'm thrilled to have found this awesome company. I bought mine at Whole Foods. You can order online, even Amazon. I think Target carries Pacifica, too. This solid sells for 9.00

Here's info from their website.

All Pacifica products are gluten-free, 100% vegan, and cruelty-free.

  • Our goal is to have zero product-manufacturing waste in our factory.
  • Pacifica recycles and uses post-consumer materials. Our boxes are all 100% recyclable.
  • We work to use components that are recyclable.
  • We work with suppliers who share in our vision.
  • We offset our company travel by purchasing carbon credits.

2. Basiltops Dairy Free Pesto Sauce

This pesto sauce rivals my mom's, which is the best I've ever had. I found Basiltops at Whole Foods and have been obsessed ever since. It's such a small mom and pop company that I couldn't even find a photo of the product online. I had to take mine out of the refrigerator to photograph it. My husband and I just had some for lunch, I threw in some kalamata olives, and, presto, easy pesto lunch. Seriously delicious, fresh and all natural ingredients. And a squeezable container. It sells for 10.00, but it goes a long way, I make at least three batches of pasta with one container. (Make sure to get the one that reads "Dairy Free.")

3. Aerosoles Screen Saver Sandals

If you read my blog, you know I'm always looking for comfortable cute cruelty-free shoes. Aerosoles has been making a lot of synthetic shoes lately and I've taken notice. I bought these last week and could not believe how comfortable they were. One of the most comfortable shoe out of the box, ever. And I think the orange is super cute for summer. They come in a bunch of colors. These sell for 49.00.

I've used all three of these products today! Happy Conscious Consuming!
